MvM's World, Entry #24 - Starting Anew......

Welcome to my first cross-website blog. This blog/note is now being posted on my website (mvmsworld.blogspot.com) as well as on Facebook. This is going to bring more readers, and make the comment system so much better and easier to use. :)

Wow has this been an interesting week so far. New friends, old friends, and what appears to be some pretty life changing moments.

First off Monday was awesome, though with a slight poor judgement moment at the end of it. Monday nights are my weekly 9 Ball pool league with the team, and I love playing (though my skills need to improve). What was even better was that my buddy Jason came to hang out, as well as my other buddy Jason. Confused? lol....... My friend Jason D. lives in Detroit, and normally I only see him once a year. He was in town though and hung out with us. We had a blast! And we also had alot to drink. Being a beer drinker is one thing, but when the shots started coming, I knew I was gonna be in deep doo doo. The night was fun though, but by the end I was very drunk.....and should not have driven home. I know this now, and believe me I got the riot act for it from people.  I will NOT make that mistake again. I will go out and have fun, but be more responsible about my actions. :)

Yesterday, I ended up reconnecting with my cousin and chatted with her on FB. It was really nice, and in the effort to help me meet new people and make new friends, she introduced me to a friend of hers on FB as well. We chatted, and things went well, and may chat again soon here. :)

I am also in the starting stages of really trying to get some old fun things back on track, and that starts with hosting game nights again. Getting all friends together to drink hang out, and play Rock Band till our fingers go numb! Don't worry that never happens........lol

I am really looking forward to Saturday now. I have Alex, and will be taking him and I to the company picnic my Job is hosting. Food, games, amusement all on location at the job site. Should be a ton of fun! Then later that evening, we are heading to Don's house for fun with the kids, going to the park, hanging out and maybe a bonfire. Alex is super excited, he has been asking me when we can go to a bonfire. He loves them! I hope he doesn't turn into a pyro.......lol

Finally, I may be taking a break from work for a week. I put in for vacation time and hopefully will be off all next week. Doing absolutely nothing at all. I need a break from this place, and need some time to spend alone, and with friends, and just relax. I have earned it and deserve it! lol

Things have been super hard the last few days, and my emotions have been all over the place. Like I have fucking PMS or something lol. But it is getting better and I am just letting it all out of my system. Little by little. And slowly will have my life back on track. I know from what I have learned and seen, that there are things I need and don't need in my life. I am more wise to seeing these things now before they happen. I am going to be in control of my destiny, and will not let others dictate how things are going to go. LOL......... I said dick.....tate.......lol

Ok, well I am gonna get going for now, but thanks for reading my blog and talk to you guys soon!

MvM's World, Entry #23 - July Game Progress

Ok, so here we are just a week into July and I feel I am off to a terrific start on my goals for the second half of the year. Lets be honest, my gaming habits and trophy goals are extremely nerdy but they make me happy as hell, keep me occupied and busy, and make me feel like I am accomplishing something. That's all that matters right? :)

Ok, so I had a bit of a slammed gaming/troho holiday weekend last weekend. Over the course of just 3 days, I beat and or completed 4 games, and racked up 46 trophies. Considering I only need 102 trophies a month to hit my goal at the end of the year, that's a huge jump start! Here's the 411......

July 1st, 2011

(Truth or Lies, PS3, 13 Trophies) Man this was such an easy one to start with! I was able to 100% this game in under 35 minutes. Oddly it is a retail game yet it has no Platinum trophy. And only a mere 13 trophies altogether. I can't really complain though, and here is why...... I nabbed this game at Target. On clearance. For..... ready for this?....... $2.48. I kid you not! Not a bad price at all for 13 trophies and a game I will never play again. Wonder if I can sell it to GameStop for more than what I payed for it? lol

(After Burner: Climax, PSN, 12 Trophies) I had been wanting to get to this one for awhile, and this past weekend I finally did. I have always been bad at flying games, but I fondly remember playing this one in the arcades when I was a kid. So I sat down to check out the new HD remake, and before I knew it, I had 100% of the trophies for the game. Pretty easy to do when you have this new EX mode thing in the game. When you accomplish certain things in the game, you will unlock EX Enhancements...... a fancy term for in game cheats. Pretty much making it super easy for anyone to get all of the trophies in this game. After a few playthroughs, I unlocked enough things to blast my way to the secret 'A' ending and unlock the final trophy. Done. I will have to play again though, was a lot of fun. :)

July 2nd / 3rd, 2011

(Stacking, PSN, 17 Trophies) Words can't describe this fun and quirky little puzzle/adventure game. Assuming the role of a tiny Russian nesting doll, and being able to jump into larger nesting dolls to complete tasks and puzzles is a really interesting idea. Each doll has it's own abilities, personalities, and humor. The game is decent in length and I finished over the weekend. Got it for free via my PS+ membership months ago, and never got around to playing it. Was so much fun, I would love to see another game in the series. Maybe a sequel?

(Stacking: The Lost Hobo King, PSN, 4 Trophies) While this is technically an Add-On for Stacking, "The Lost Hobo King" is actually an adventure of it's own. A new world, and a new story, it is MUCH shorter than the main game itself, but just as much fun. The puzzles were a tad trickier, and a little longer but nothing too bad at all. With new nesting dolls to unlock and interact with, it was overall a great 'little' adventure. Finished this one up fairly quickly after finishing the main game. :)

Having 46 out of the 102 trophies I need for the month is a great start, and there are still 3 weeks to go! And with all of the games I have sitting to go through, man.......... I just may get my goal sooner. Or surpass it. Or both. :)

Game On!

MvM's World, Entry #8 - 48 In 5

I set what still may seem like an impossible task and goal for my self as a gamer, but dammit I am having fun, and that's all that matters. With that said I have now racked up 48 trophies in the first 5 days of this month (Today doesn't count yet, as I am at work and haven't played any games yet.....lol). Will I hit my goal for the month?

210 trophies does seem like alot, but broken down that's only 7 a day. So after today is over, based on that factor, I need to be at 42 (nice!) trophies. Seeing that I already have 48 and haven't even played yet today, I feel good about my goal so far.

This will also when done, bring my platinum total up to 19. That is one less than my yearly goal of 20 I set for myself. Looks like Gamer42 is still in action my friends! :)

Here is the 48 I have racked up so far this month:

04 Trophies - SingStar (Goal Sheet Complete)
02 Trophies - Press Your Luck (5 Left On Goal Sheet)
12 Trophies - Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing (5 Left On Goal Sheet)
11 Trophies - BTTF - Episode 3: Citizen Brown (Game Complete!)
19 Trophies - Disney Pixar’s Up (3 Left On Goal Sheet, and will be Complete / Plat #15!)

The rest of the month is still a huge amount of time and will see me not only nabbing those last few left for the above games, but also completing the following games to 100%:

14 Trophies - SBCGFAP Episode 5
28 Trophies - Dante’s Inferno [Plat #16]
36 Trophies - God of War [Plat #17]
35 Trophies - God of War II [Plat #18]
41 Trophies - Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands [Plat #19]

Wish me luck guys, and I will keep you posted! :)

MvM's World, Entry #7 - TroHo / Gaming Update

Man, I better get going on this or I will never hit my goal. What started off as a stellar year in beating and completing games, as well as earning trophies, I seem to have hit a stale period as of the last month or two.

March still holds as my best month netting me over 200+ trophies earned, as well as completing a dozen games. Now I seem to have fallen behind once again. And just when you think my GameFly subscription should be helping my troho score, I have actually made it worse for myself.

When you have a sub with GF, and you have it for 3 games at a time, the last thing you would think about is having to buy any games. But alas that is what I did anyways. Now my backlog is huge! (Does that sound dirty at all? lol)

To start off, I have to stop buying games that are in my GF queue. I had rented the Sly Cooper collection through them, and once I had beaten the first of the 3 games on the disc, I decided I loved the games so much I would just keep it. So I made my purchase with GF (Free Shipping FTW!), and got my case and manual sent to me, and it was done.

Then I made the dumb choice to upgrade. Lets face it, 2 games at a time was more than enough, did I really need 3? Probably not, and to make it worse, after upgrading, I kept buying!

Next came the Tomb Raider collection, then I bought Mini Ninja's (another game that was on my Q), then saw Dante's Inferno at Walmart for cheap. Then I grabbed Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing for cheap at Gamestop. Not to mention I still have a copy of the God of War collection I borrowed a few moons ago from my boss at work.

Whew!

Ok so on my own, I have at least 9 games to Plat and complete. So with that said, I am reducing my GF account to 1 at a time for now. Going to keep GF just to throw some randomness into the mix when I get tired of Action/Adventure/Platformer's. That seems to be the bulk of what I keep buying.

It also doesn't help that I finally finished modding my Wii, and now have a 1TB HDD attached to that bad boy with over 100 Wii games, plus emulators and a shit ton of Roms. But that's another story for another day.

Damn I am just overwhelmed with all the games I am trying to get through. Bit off more than I could chew? For sure. But rest assured, I am still shooting for my end of year goal..... 20 Plats, and 2000 overall Trophies. Only 6 Plats left to go, and....... around 750 overall trophies left to go? Yeah, I have my work cut out for me. I better get moving!
